The true story behind it
The same little chef who inspired Harvey inspired this one. When my son was small, he’d “cook” with his toy kitchen, making up dishes that don’t exist and serving them to us to “eat.” Walter is built around a cooking contest where the challenge is to invent a brand-new dish out of hard-to-find ingredients. It came straight from those pretend meals on the living room floor.
What happens in the story
Walter enters a cooking contest, but the rule is to create something nobody has ever made, from ingredients that are hard to find. With Kitty and Dino’s help, he gets inventive. A playful story about making something new and being proud of it.
