The true story behind it
This is one of the earliest stories I wrote in the series. Babblers, those little chattering birds, are always in our backyard. They’re still there now, singing their morning song, and I think they were the first birds my son ever really noticed. In the story, Melody’s guitar breaks and she can’t sing her morning song, and the other animals miss it terribly. I found myself thinking how lonely the mornings would feel if those birds ever went quiet. Kitty and Dino help fix her guitar so the song comes back.
What happens in the story
Melody the babbler’s guitar breaks, and without it she can’t sing the morning song the whole forest loves. Kitty and Dino set out to help her fix it. A warm little story about friendship and the everyday things worth holding onto.

Melody’s guitar breaks, and without it she cannot sing the morning song the whole forest listens for. Kitty and Dino set out to help her fix it.
Babblers have always chattered in our backyard, and they were very likely the first birds my son ever properly noticed. I found myself thinking about how quiet the mornings would feel if they ever stopped, and that became this book. It is one of the earliest stories in the series.
